Background Verification Policy

1. Purpose

Marry'em is committed to providing a safe, trustworthy and respectful environment for individuals seeking marriage.

To further improve member safety, Marry'em may offer an Optional Background Verification Service. This service is designed to help members make informed decisions by verifying certain information provided by another member before progressing towards marriage.

Participation in this service is entirely voluntary.

2. Optional Service

The Background Verification Service is not mandatory.

Members are free to use Marry'em without requesting or participating in any background verification.

No verification will ever be conducted without the explicit consent of the member whose information is being verified.

3. Eligibility

Background Verification may only be requested where:

  • both members are aged 18 years or over;
  • both members have expressed mutual interest;
  • both members agree to proceed with verification;
  • the service is available in the relevant country.

Marry'em reserves the right to refuse verification requests where appropriate.

4. Consent

Before any verification begins, the member whose information will be verified must provide clear and informed consent.

Consent includes authorising Marry'em and its authorised independent verification partner to:

  • verify identity;
  • review supporting documents;
  • conduct lawful background checks;
  • process personal information solely for verification purposes.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time before the investigation has commenced.

Depending on the country and available verification services, members may be asked to provide:

  • Proof of Address
  • Selfie Verification
  • Employment Information
  • Education Documentation

9. Fees

Background Verification is an optional paid service.

The member requesting verification is responsible for paying all applicable fees before the verification process begins.

  • third-party costs.

All applicable fees will be clearly disclosed before payment is requested.

10. Verification Results

Following completion, Marry'em may provide an appropriate verification outcome, such as:

  • Partially Verified
  • Unable to Verify
  • Discrepancies Identified

To protect privacy, detailed personal information or confidential records may not be shared.

Marry'em reserves the right to determine what information may lawfully be disclosed.

11. Limitations

Although every reasonable effort is made to verify information accurately, Marry'em cannot guarantee that every piece of information will be discovered, verified or remain accurate after verification.

Verification represents information available at the time it was conducted.

Members remain responsible for exercising their own judgement before entering into any relationship or marriage.

12. Privacy

All information collected during verification is handled in accordance with the Marry'em Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

Information will only be used for verification purposes and platform safety.

13. Data Retention

Verification documents and related information will only be retained for as long as necessary to:
